Dr. Alyssa Smith grew up in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where she spent most of her time enjoying the outdoors with her two sisters and dog, Zurphy. As with most veterinarians, she has wanted to be a vet since childhood. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Lebanon Valley College in 2013, and attended Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2018. During school she both worked for and completed an externship with NLVC, and was excited to return to NLVC once graduating. Dr. Smith enjoys the many different areas of veterinary medicine, but she has a special interest in preventative care, dermatology, and client education.
Dr. Smith relocated to Wisconsin in 2018 where her husband, Jared, grew up and they live in the town of Erin. Jared works as a mechanical design engineer at Midwest Engineered Systems. They have two adorable goldendoodles, Theo and Milo, as well as a new addition, their son Colsen, who arrived in April 2021. Outside of working, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, camping, gardening, and spending time in/on the water.
